For generations the church has conscripted an elite order of witch hunters, the Quaesitor Maleficarum, to purge the world of the curse of the arcane.
Forced to go into hiding, flee or face judgement by holy flame, Francine is a witch on the run with her young son, until a brush with a lone Conquisitor changes their plans.
Prologue:
Development
Shown here are some development sketches from the initial project, and later location development for the world and city.
Taking inspiration from real world historical construction, the architecture of the world was supposed to strike a balance between rustic and cold, with the cities feeling tall and oppressive, and the rural areas feeling more lush and overgrown.
The initial concepts for Seeker (Later Quaesitor Maleficarum) drew heavily from settings like the Witcher, as well as being inspired by the Grant Morrison comic series Klaus, illustrated by Dan Mora.
Here you can see some early thumbnails of an action scene taken directly from the script, sketched and refined. Below are also two variations of initial panels, although this introduction was later reworked as the story evolved.
